長くなりましたので、新しくスレッドを作りました。

However, of course, if I had taken the Eiken test, I would definitely have chosen the “agree” side. What I am going to write here would shock Eiken graders!

Whether you should agree with the globalized idea or not is very difficult because there are so many phases we have to dwell on. However, even so, I would like to insist we should stay against globalization.

First of all, we have to face the reality that we have to risk our safety under globalization. Our right to live safely is going to be taken away. I would like to bring up the previous president, Trump, who stands far away from globalization on the scale. It turned out way fewer illegal immigrants go over the board coming into the United States. The term “globalization” sounds utopian for some optimistic people because it has a dreamy image to let everybody in and make everybody happy. However, it is a dangerous policy on the other hand, and it lets more illegal people surge into the country a lot more than good and legal immigrants. Under Trump's presidency, the United States was protected and safe.

We also have to consider the unemployment fact. From now on under the name of “globalization,” so many illegal immigrants go over the border and take good US citizen's employment chances because they take them with lower wages. It leads to more and more Americans suffering from being kicked out of their workplace taken by immigrants, who are willing to work for lower wages.

Moreover, we cannot forget the balance of power, which each country has. Under globalization, the balance of power among countries has to lose its balance. Globalization let China have more power because so many countries outsource so many things to China.
Everybody still clearly remembers when we got panicked running out of paper…. People crazily looked for masks, paper towels, hand sanitizer wipes, and toilet papers. It happened with the flow of globalization, China cornered the market and in the end, due to emergencies like Covid pandemic, the country took everything on its own, and other countries just had nothing else to do.

Under globalization, countries' safety is risked; the lowest wage is lower and lower and job vacancies are taken away by illegal immigrants. The countries' power is out of control. Everything is going out of control, so I do not believe that globalization is a positive idea.

英検１級の対策長文として、有名大の過去問題長文はとても良いと思います。東大、京大、早稲田、慶應あたりは１級対策として十分対応できると思います。

残念です。自説を曲げずリスクを冒してでも、高得点を狙って少数意見で臨んでいって欲しかったです。私はみなさんの論文の方がいいと思います。

私も冒頭に書きましたが、本番ならAGREE にするだろうと思います。
今の英検の作文の配点は非常に高いようですし、あともう一つ、作文は人間が採点しますもんね・・・

たとえはずれますが、フィギュアスケートなどでも、採点に有利なように振り付けを変えるというのも聞いたことがありますしね・・・

まるでTIMEかECONOMISTに投稿される記事のような・・。
やはり、米国で英語の先生をなさっている方は、レベルが違いますね。違い過ぎると感じました。

書き出しが良い。「一見よく思えるGlobalizationも良く考えれば・・・」の書き出し、読み手を引き込む魅力十分です。

3つの理由、First of all, We also, Moreover,と続けるところが、素晴らしいですね。大人のエッセイという感じです。
私のは、First, Second, Third(Last)。中学生の作文です。

移民に絡む、治安の悪化や失業の懸念、パワーバランス喪失による特定国の力の増大など、鋭い視点での反対論、素晴らしいです。私にはここまで論理を展開できません。ツルさんも記載のとおり、Nativeでも相当教養のある人でなければ書けないでしょう。

というわけで、非常に勉強になりました。

2021/01/29 (Fri) 11:23:58: Globalizationの一番の弊害は、共産党一党独裁国家中国の台頭を許したこと。先進国は国が豊かになれば自然と民主化されると高を括っていたが、結果は手の付けられないならず者国家を生み出した。早急に中国を疎外化しなければ世界が彼らに制服される。
